From this small window you will discover a unique region of Tuscany and discover why it is so easy to fall in love with Chianti, as many have before.

For many it is a tradition to come back to Chianti every year or more often. You might be surprised to know that this is a relatively old tradition. During the past centuries many English writers fell in love with Chianti and were inspired by this land when writing, painting, or composing. Some of the most famous are E.M.Forster, D.H.Lawrence, Henry James, Michael Ondaatje and Lord Byron, but the list is very long.

The provinces of Siena, Florence and Arezzo are interested by the Chianti region. For this reason they get the names of Chianti Fiorentino, Chianti Senese, and Chianti Aretino, respectively.

Where to go?
I know it is a difficult choice, as each section of this website will guide you through a world of first-hand experiences that each person can revive here or even better in real life. This written journey wants to be a shared experience for those that wish to visit Chianti one day. Through these lines you will read of winemakers, butchers, recipes, home decor á-la-Chianti, history of towns and ancient families, castles to visit and where to stay, homes, churches, museums and the Chianti way of living.
All these intertwine with each other, but I’ve tried to keep it more orderly for you. Each section is divided into several subsections that will guide you through Chianti by your hand without a possibility of getting lost, although losing oneself in Chianti would not be a bad thing at all…
