Casa Emma
-
The story of Casa Emma begins in the early 1970s, when the Bucalossi family first bought the nucleus of the estate: a strip of rocky land, measuring approximately 13 hectares, and a house in ruins. In the following years the first vineyards and olive groves were planted, the cellar for making and aging wine was built and the farmhouse was restored with particular sensitivity to its original form. Casa Ernma now stretches over approximately 34 hectares, on a hill at an altitude of 420 metres. 21 hectares are dedicated to vineyards, while the olive grove occupies 4 hectares and was completely replanted after the devastating 1985 frost. Since 2001, The Parco Botanico del Chianti, 5 hectares of woodlands, has become part of the estate. lt is impossible to talk about Casa Emma without mentioning the care and passion that Fiorella, Giuseppe and Alessandro, have brought to Casa Emma every day, since day one. You can reach Casa Emma by taking the Florence-Siena highway up to San Donato, then continuing for approximately 4 kms in the direction of Castellina in Chianti. Casa Emma welcomes visitors to the farm any day of the year and from March to November it is possible to taste the farm’s products.
